    We appreciate that everyone has different needs and responsibilities, so at Victoria Police we offer a wide range of flexible working arrangements including part-time employment, carers’ leave, family leave, compassionate leave, flexible working hours, leave without pay, paternity and maternity leave.

    Our core business hours apply between 9am to 5pm; however flexible working hours can be negotiated with your manager.

    Conditions of employment for support staff are governed by the Victorian Public Service Workplace Determination 2012.

    Conditions of employment based on a standard working week of 38 hours, include four weeks recreational leave, 17.5% leave loading, standard sick leave and long service leave entitlements.

From beginners through to seasoned athletes, everyone is welcome, so get involved and take advantage of a career with networks!

    Victoria Police sporting and recreational club memberships are available for all employees, with many clubs offering associate memberships where family and friends can also participate. Some of the sports include: alpine sports; angling; basketball; cricket; cycling; football; golf; hockey; motor sports; netball; rugby; shooting, soccer; outdoor pursuits; touch football; and many more.                  

    For example, Victoria Police Cycling Club was formed almost 20 years ago and now has about 120 members. Participants enjoy regular bunch rides, as well as multi-day tours and extended long weekend rides.

    Victoria Police Amateur Sports & Welfare Society (VPAS&WS) is the umbrella organisation representing the interests of over 40 police sporting and recreational clubs across Victoria, with an objective to bring together like-minded individuals. The Clubs represented have a have in excess of 3,000 members. There have been some outstanding individual performances at the highest levels of sport over the years, including representation at Olympic Games and World Championships.

    Police & Emergency Services Competitions
    The series of police and emergency services competitions are fantastic opportunities to compete, travel interstate and overseas, develop friendships and maintain fitness. Victoria Police encourages all members of varying fitness levels to participate, challenge yourself and build your professional and social networks.
    Participation is open to all sworn police roles as well as public service positions.
