Accessibility

The Victoria Police website aims to be as inclusive as possible. To achieve this aim, we have followed the Whole of Victorian Government (WoVG) Website Standards – Standards Pack 1 – Standard: Accessibility.

The Victoria Police website is level A compliant (W3C Guidelines) with the exception of the Victoria Police Weapon ID - Weapon Search function which is currently under review.

The Victoria Police website has also been developed to display on all commonly used browsers. PDF Documents

Portable Document Format (PDF) is the open de facto standard for electronic document distribution worldwide. Adobe PDF is a universal file format that preserves all of the fonts, formatting, colours, and graphics of any source document, regardless of the application and platform used to create it. Adobe PDF files are compact and can be shared, viewed, navigated, and printed exactly as intended by anyone with the free Adobe Acrobat Software. This format has been employed due to the nature of the documents, and the requirement for preserving their integrity. Accessing scanned Acrobat documents

A large number of Acrobat (PDF) documents on the Victoria Police website are not accessible to screen readers. If you need to access a document using a screen reader please contact the Victoria Police Media and Corporate Communications Department who will provide you with an accessible file format.

Victoria Police hopes this site is accessible to you. If you have problems or suggestions on how we can improve the accessibility of this website, please contact us.
